What Makes Us Different
- The fundamental principle that sets us apart from many financial planning professionals is that we believe that the Bible is the source of timeless financial wisdom that can aid anyone, regardless of faith journey or lack thereof. Additionally, there are several unique approaches and beliefs that differentiate us from many other advisors.
- We believe that as investment advisors and fiduciaries, we have the responsibility to not only provide investment recommendations, but to actively manage our clients’ assets to help them reach their goals. Unlike many financial advisors who simply outsource the investment management of their accounts to a third party, many of our fee-based households are invested in accordance with portfolios that we manage in house and on a discretionary basis.
- As part of our investment philosophy, we do not chase the widely accepted hypothesis that Modern Portfolio Theory is best or results in superior risk adjusted performance. We believe that the only benchmark that truly matters for individual investors is that they meet and hopefully exceed their financial goals and that market indices have nothing to do with those goals.
- As opposed to Modern Portfolio Theory, our in-house tactically managed portfolios embrace the core discipline of relative strength and technical analysis as primary drivers of security selection. In short, we believe price momentum (both up and down), trends, support/ resistance, and laws of supply and demand tend to be persistent and are good principles in which to make investment decisions.
- Our investment recommendations and financial planning strategies are grounded by the idea that an individual or household should never take more risk than necessary in order to achieve their financial goals. We believe that risk management is a critical component of all our managed portfolios.
